We are recruiting for a HSEQ Manager
C-PLAN Telecommunications are currently recruiting for a HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality) Manager to oversee the HSEQ team in the safe delivery of a multitude of projects within the telecommunications industry for a number of clients.
As HSEQ Manager you will guide the HSEQ team in the development and delivery of health, safety and environmental procedures and documentation as well as undertake on site inspections to check conformity to our Integrated Management System requirements.
As well as supporting the on-site activities the role will require the candidate to have a good background in working on utilities infrastructure or construction projects as well as development of staff and providing point of contact with client and internal project teams.
The role is fast paced and a good challenge for someone with strong HSEQ experience in the field of construction / utilities and would the successful candidate to undertake the following:
· To cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.
· Assist the leadership team to develop, manage and monitor the HSEQ performance of the company.
· Monitor and advise on all HSEQ matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
· Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain, regarding HSEQ matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
· Responsible for Company’s HSEQ processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations (ISO9001, 45001, OHAS18001, Safe Contractor, Achilles UVDB B2 Verified etc.
· Responsible for management of and liaison with HSEQ auditors to acquire/maintain Company’s accreditations.
· Manage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, COSHH control etc.
· Report on Company’s HSEQ performance to the leadership team and statutory authorities as/when required.
· Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
· Conduct HSEQ training courses using internal and external resources when required.
· Maintain awareness of evolving industry HSEQ regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the Company’s operations.
· Act as Subject Matter Expert for HSEQ matters.
· Produce further analysis and reports as may be required by the Directors, or HPI management rom time to time.
· Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
· Offer HSEQ consultancy to the Company’s subsidiaries and affiliates when required.
· Manage the HSEQ team, including development, training and support.
As well as the practical experience you gain you will also be supported in your ongoing academic development. If you have existing Health and Safety qualifications, these will be expanded and in order to round off the Health, Safety and Environmental elements further training will be provided in the Occupation Health and Environmental disciplines with the opportunity to study courses accredited by IEMA, NEBOSH, NCRQ etc dependent on your own preference.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have full driver’s licence authorised to drive in the UK
· Must be computer literate with good understanding of Microsoft Packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
· Professional, approachable, and helpful manner
· Detailed focussed individual able to identify errors and correct
· Good communication skills, both digitally and physically
· Have a desire to develop and learn constantly
· Be a good self-motivated individual
· Existing Health and Safety formal accreditation (NEBOSH CERTIFICATE / IOSH etc…)
· Experience working on large construction / utilities projects
· Membership of IOSH (minimum Tech IOSH level)
PREFERRED:
· Existing Health and Safety qualifications: Core qualifications NVQ Level 5 or higher - NEBOSH Dip or equivalent – Other related NVQ-SVQ/NEBOSH or technical qualifications
· Degree level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
· Experience working in utilities industry (preferably telecommunications)
· Experience working in a Health and Safety role (senior or manager)
· Membership of a chartered organisation: IOSH, CMIOSH preferred, but we will accept graduate moving to new grade, MIIRSM full membership – Full CPD support
· Located within Central Belt Scotland and able to travel to sites located Scotland wide.
· Training / Internal Verifier accreditation preferred
